One of the most important and traditional karting markets, Italy, where drivers from all over the world go weekly to dispute several competitions, has recently lived important moments in another season.

The first of five rounds of the Italian Championship took place in Ugento - the other races are scheduled for Viterbo, Sarno, Cremona and Franciacorta - all of them with the participation of the Brazilian MG Tires, one of the main go-kart tires manufacturers of the world.

MG Tires - with it's headquarters in Novo Hamburgo and factory in Barra do Ribeiro, both cities from the state of Rio Grande do Sul - has supplied tires for three classes: Mini GR.3, OK-N Junior and OK-N.

The initial round of the Italian Championship, as expected, had an excelent number of entries and intense battles in the selective track layout of Ungento, located in the province of Lecce.

The winners - and current leaders of the Italian Championship - were Leon Chelidze Leon (Georgia - Mini GR.3), Platon Kovtuneko (Uckrain - Mini GR.3 U10), Oleksandr Legenkyi (Uckrain - OK-N Junior) and Danny Carenini Danny (Italy - OK-N).
