MG TIRES HAS BEEN CHOSEN AS KART TIRES SUPPLIER FOR THE NEW ZEALAND MARKET DURING 2024/2026

Present in more than 50 countries, MG Tires is back to the New Zealand Karting scenario, where the company will supply its tires for the next three seasons (2024, 2025 and 2026).

The decision was announced by the KartSport New Zealand Board, which has performed extensive tires testings on the beginning of this year. The testings included several brands of tires, besides comparatives with the tires from the current contract. At the end of the testings, the board selected the MG SH model, known in Brazil as "red tire". This way, from january 1st 2024, all categories that run in the Sprint and Superkart classes will use the MG SH. The transition to the MG wet tire will be made starting july 1st next year.

The tires supply in New Zealand will be done by DPE Kart Technology, MG's importer in Australia: "DPE Kart Technology along with MG Tires is excited to be a part of the next New Zealand tire contract for 2024-2026. This year we celebrate our 50th year of operations and believe it is this experience and knowledge gained over the years that will be beneficial to this contract” commented Bart Price, Managing Director of DPE Kart Technology.

"We have always received great feedback from drivers about the MG Red AZ tire that were previously used in New Zealand and in Australia for over 20 years, we are sure teams and drivers will enjoy the development that has gone into the MG Red SH tire. Offering improved balance front to rear for modern chassis design, it offers a unique blend of grip and tire durability. This makes it a great tire across a wide range of classes and age groups, which we are sure drivers will enjoy", Price mentioned.

‘’MG receives the confirmation that we will be an official tires supplier in New Zealand from 2024 to 2026 with extreme joy. With 34 years’ experience in tire manufacturing as well as a supplier to the CIK-FIA for the World and European Championships, we are excited to have our product at drivers and team’s disposal in New Zealand" said Marino Junior, Foreign Trade Manager at MG Tires.

"Our company already distributes to more than 50 countries in 5 different continents, and to be able to once again be together with the NZ market is really an honour. Previously we supplied the popular MG Red AZ tire to the New Zealand market and now look forward to supplying the MG Red SH tire. We are sure teams and drivers will enjoy the grip, balance, and feel the tire delivers whilst offering great wear and durability. The passion and technology we put into our tire development is embodied in our belief that MG is ‘for the drivers’", ended Marino.
